My Two HMS Victory Models

This is a photo of my mini-Vic sitting in the foreground taken during the early early stages of the building of the larger scale Vic seen in the background.
The mini-Vic is almost exactly half the size of her big sister.

Scale Pic

Much progress has been made.

The new pencil seen here provides a perfect frame of reference in order to fully grasp just how small a 1:180th scale model of the Victory is.

Note: Hull has a new paint job.  Some re-shaping of the rail contours.  Port entrance and boarding strips were added.  Many new inboard additions will be seen in following pics.

Finished View

Seen here is the completed HMS Victory - 1:180th scale.  Fully rigged and ready for action.

Interesting Note:
After checking with every known source of authority and finding no other challenge, it now appears that this just might be the world's smallest fully rigged model of the HMS Victory.

Now isn't that just real special?

Anchors Installed

There are actually four anchors fitted to the Victory.  I am choosing to only use one on each side.

Launches Mounted

Seen here are two of the five launches.

Rudder Installed

After almost 40 years, she finally has a rudder.  Note the gallery davits and the hanging launch.

Yards Fully Rigged and Fitted

All of the yards are now fitted and completely rigged.

View from High above the Forecastle

A view of the rigging from high above the forecastle.

View from High Aft

A high aft view of the rigging.

Close View of Rigging

A real close view of some of the rigging.
